MCCF Lords Hub featured six CECC U15-U17 colts in a close 32-run defeat against MCCF Hammersmith Hub at Roehampton Cricket Club on Monday 13th May.
Thanks to tight bowling from U17 Ubaid Jalili (1-16) and U15 Yoseph Baz (0-18) the West Londoners initially struggled before posting 159-4 from their 20 overs.
In response, U15 Joe Ludlow and U17 Mostafa Doulatzai put on an effortless 62 for the second wicket before Ludlow departed for 20 caught in the deep. Doulatazai powered to a maiden half century thanks to a blizzard of boundaries before his dismissal for 52. The MCCF Lords Hub finally finished on 127 as the gloom descended in South West London.
Other CECC colts to feature were U17s Jawad Khan and Rishteen Zazai.
The MCCF Hub project is a nationwide network providing free-to-access training and matches for more than 4,700 state-educated young cricketers at 126 sites across the UK. The Hubs focus on talent: helping promising youngsters who have been engaged through mass participation activities or non-traditional formats to join cricket clubs, develop their hard-ball skills, and access the formal talent pathways.
